Keepers of the Wild

Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation’s (OSCF) mission is to work with all facets of the outdoor industry to improve cultural acceptance of hunting, fishing, trapping and target shooting. We use research-based communications and engagement programs to recruit the next generation of  HATS™ (Hunters, Anglers, Trappers and Shooters), and promote the fact that HATS™ are primary funders and stewards of land, fish and wildlife conservation in America.

This PSA is intended to create awareness with the general public about how the United States goes about conserving wildlife and the natural landscapes that define our nation.  These conservation efforts are funded in combination by the hunting public, and state fish and wildlife agencies. As stewards of the outdoors, they provide our country with 36 million acres of wild spaces to enjoy and the diverse wildlife that inhabits them. Between purchasing hunting and fishing licenses along with outdoor products with a special excise tax on them, HATS and the outdoor industry provide approximately $3.6 billion annually to support fish and wildlife conservation.
